Am I eligible?

Closer to Home is committed to supporting as many families through our Adopt-a-Family initiative as possible. However, our funding and resources are limited, so we may need to focus our support within our catchment area, which includes the communities of:

  • Aspen Ridge
  • Christie Park
  • Coach Hill
  • Cougar Ridge
  • Discovery Ridge
  • East Springbank
  • Glamorgan
  • Glenbrook
  • Glendale
  • Killarney
  • Lakeview
  • Lincoln Park
  • Marda Loop
  • Patterson Hill
  • Shaganappi
  • Signal Hill
  • Springbank Hill
  • Spruce Cliff
  • Strathcona
  • West Gate
  • West Springs
  • Wildwood

If you are located outside of these communities, your local community resource centre may be able to assist you. Please feel free to call us at (403) 543-0555 and we can connect you with the right place.

How do I get started?

Please call us at (403) 543-0555 to speak with one of our Family Support Workers.

What will I receive?

When we refer families to our Adopt-a-Family initiative, we sit down with them to fill out their wish list. This list can include items such as winter gear (coats, boots, etc.), toys, household items, grocery gift cards and more. However, what is in your package will be dependent on the donations we receive.

Do you have other programs that can help me?

Closer to Home’s West Central Community Resource Centre has a variety of community-based youth and family programming. Please visit the WCCRC Programs page for more information.
